Dr. Michael Leahy
Dr. Michael Leahy grew up in Oak Lawn and attended Brother Rice High School and the University of
Michigan as an Evans Scholar. He taught elementary and high school science for six years before attending the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating cum laude in 1981. Since then he has been practicing all aspects of family optometry. Dr. Leahy enjoys primary eye care, treatment of eye disease, and contact lens fitting. He has participated in several contact lens studies with Ciba Vision and Ocular Sciences. Dr. Leahy is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, Tomb and Key Honor Society, and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Robert Van Lente
Dr. Robert Van Lente has been with the practice for over 35 years. He practices primary care optometry including contact lens fitting and the
diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Van Lente graduated from Western Michigan University; he then went on to the educational field teaching the sciences. Dr. Van Lente graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. In his free time, he enjoys golf, boating and fishing in his home state of Michigan. Dr. Van Lente enjoys cooking with his two sons who are chefs. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, and the Illinois Optometric Association Contact Lens Society.
Dr. Christine DiSalvo-Ost
Dr. Christine DiSalvo-Ost has been in practice with Drs. Van Lente and Leahy and
Associates for over 20 years. In addition to primary care optometry, she has a special interest in children's vision problems. Dr. DiSalvo-Ost attended Mother McAuley High School, then graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University with a Bachelors of Science degree. She went on to graduate cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1988. Dr. DiSalvo-Ost is a member of the Optometric Extension Program and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Christine Walko Leahy
Dr. Christine Walko Leahy has been in practice with Drs. Van Lente and Leahy and Associates since 1995. She attended Governors State University, graduating with a B.A. in psychology and later graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. Christine Walko Leahy diagnoses and treats eye diseases, co-manages cataract and Lasik patients, and fits standard and specialty contact lenses in addition to primary eye care. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.
